Best $7 steak/roast beef sandwich I ever had! A little hard to find if you are walking down St. James. You have to enter 31 St. James. Back Bay is next to Subway.
The staff were super helpful and friendly. I arrived around 3pm so no line but I can imagine the place gets busy based on quality, selection, and price. -

Love this place! I asked them help to find me a healthy/tasty option. David and 3 other coworkers had a brainstorming session with me and they made chicken pranzo with wheat bread. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend it

Working across the street, I love ordering Back Bay Sandwich on Ritual. Back Bay Sandwich allows you to get half a classic deli sandwich for $3.50 pre-tax and it comes with a pickle. Those are my go-to's when I'm not super hungry but want something fresh, not from my work cafeteria. A few months ago, my friend introduced me to the Chicken Margherita Sandwich for about $8 - I inhaled it my first few times ordering it. It was that good! It has your classic fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil and olive oil drizzle - but also breaded chicken (baked, I believe) and wow, the combo is delicious! You get the tasty protein countered by the fresh ingredients. Having ordered so many times, I must say my sandwich is assembled inconsistently and tastes slightly different sometimes but all within range that I'd still call delicious and highly recommend!
Most of the time, I place an order on Ritual and pick it up when it's ready because right around lunch time ~12PM, it gets p a c k e d and the line is out the door, into the hallway. Picking up is seamless, it's always ready on the counter and despite missing the in-person experience of purchasing, the man behind the counter usually takes a moment to say thank you or have a great day. -

This place makes the best sandwiches in the area! I love their signature menu. If you're looking for a place to eat for lunch around the area I completely recommend this place.
FYI, this place is JAM PACKED when it's lunch time. I recommend you download the ritual app and place your order. Still expect delays though. Sometimes the app would say the sandwich is ready but it's not... not sure if it's the app or the place but, not consistent. -

An excellent lunch time option in Boston. Living only a short walk away, this place has become a go-to staple for us. You do need to be cognizant of time of day, because the lunch time rush can extend your visit considerably.
I (Brendan) get the Pranzo Supremo - Baked Chx Cutlet is the centerpiece and joined by prosciutto and mozzarella. A shoe-in 5/5 sandwich, but as it is on the menu, it comes on a sub roll, which is a mistake (too soggy too quickly). A simple substitution to a baguette (which they do happily at no extra charge) is a GAME CHANGER. An easy 5/5 sandwich option. Every sandwich comes with a pickle, which is a nice treat. Doesn't always make sense to finish a mediterranean inspired sandwich with a half-sour pickle, but you won't ever see me complain about a complimentary deli pickle.
